Summer School Information Letter 2024

We are excited to be back for another fun year of summer school!
The following is information you will need before the first day of school. Please be sure to review all information below.

Date & Time: Classes begin July 1st at 9 AM with dismissal at 12 PM. There is no daycare available after 12:15 PM unless you signed your child up for afternoon summer camp. We will not have school on July 4th.

Morning Drop off: Drop-off will begin at 8:45 AM. Your child will meet their Period 1 teacher in their designated area outside. Any child dropped off before 8:45 am must be checked into morning daycare.

Morning Daycare: You may drop off your child beginning at 7:45 am. Unless you have prepaid for the month, the drop-in rate is $8.00 per day.

Class Schedules: Please make sure to review your child’s schedule to help them find their teacher in the morning at drop-off. Please remind your child that this is school and that their behavior should be appropriate for school. If your child is going to afternoon camp, they will go directly to camp after their last class.

Clothing: We ask that the children wear appropriate clothing. Please make sure your child has closed-toed shoes if they are enrolled in the Sports class.

Food and Water: We will have a snack period so your child can bring a snack if they choose. There is no lunch period, however, your child may bring a lunch if they are attending camp.

Phones: Phones are not allowed on campus during the summer school session (8:45 AM to 12:15 PM). If your child needs to contact you for any reason, they can use a school phone to call you. If your child is caught using their phone during school, it will be taken away and may be picked up by a parent at dismissal time in the summer school office. Smartwatches are also not allowed.

Early Pick Up: If you need to pick up your child prior to the end of the school day, please come to the summer school office to sign them out. If possible, please just send me an email to let me know so we can have them ready.

Absences/Late Policy: Please call and let me know if your child will be absent or late. The phone number is 310-316-0877. If they do come late, please check them in with me at the summer school office and I will make sure they get to their class. There are no refunds for absences.

Epi-pens/Inhalers: If you indicated that your child will need an epi-pen/inhaler, please make sure to provide me with one on the first day of school. If you indicated that your child should carry their own, be sure that they have it with them every day.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Looking forward to a great month of summer school!

Take care,
Erica Ayala
